RM-SWA810-20 Slotted Waveguide Antenna for 8.6–9.6 GHz High-Gain RF Applications

For RF systems where directional performance, compact integration, and stable impedance matching are essential, a slotted waveguide antenna offers an effective way to combine multiple radiating slots within a robust waveguide-based structure. The RF MISO RM-SWA810-20 Slotted Waveguide Antenna is designed for operation from 8.6 to 9.6 GHz, providing a practical high-gain solution for communication and radar applications.

One of the key strengths of the RM-SWA810-20 is its greater than 20 dBi gain, allowing electromagnetic energy to be concentrated into a more directional radiation pattern. Compared with lower-gain antenna solutions, this makes the antenna particularly suitable for systems where controlled coverage and efficient forward radiation are important.

RF matching is equally important in practical system integration. With a 1.5 typical VSWR, the RM-SWA810-20 is designed to maintain good matching characteristics throughout its operating band. The antenna uses linear polarization, while the specification lists a 3 dB bandwidth of ≥20° × 7°, reflecting its directional beam characteristics.

The simulated radiation data supplied with the antenna further demonstrates its focused beam behavior. At 9.16 GHz, the gain-pattern plot shows a pronounced main beam, supporting the antenna’s positioning as a directional high-gain radiator.

Mechanical design is another practical advantage. Manufactured from aluminum with colored conductive oxidation treatment, the RM-SWA810-20 measures approximately 205.7 × 77.7 × 48.8 mm and weighs 1.052 kg, providing a relatively compact structure for integration into RF platforms. It also supports 50 W CW power handling.

For systems requiring a coaxial connection, an optional configuration is available. The product drawing specifically shows the RM-SWA810-20N version with an N-Female interface, giving engineers additional flexibility when connecting the antenna to existing RF equipment.

Combining high gain, low VSWR, linear polarization, compact mechanical dimensions, and flexible interface options, the RM-SWA810-20 provides a strong antenna platform for engineers developing directional communication and radar systems in the 8.6–9.6 GHz range.
