In advanced RF systems, antenna performance is not defined by gain alone. Polarization flexibility, impedance matching, radiation purity, front-to-back isolation, and power-handling capability all influence the reliability of a measurement or communication link. RF MISO’s RM-DCPHA12-10 Dual Circular Polarization Horn Antenna brings these requirements together in a professional antenna solution covering the 1–2 GHz frequency range.
Designed for dual circular polarization operation, the RM-DCPHA12-10 is well suited to systems where polarization control is important or where the relative orientation between transmitting and receiving antennas may change. Circular polarization can help reduce sensitivity to antenna alignment and support more stable signal reception in complex propagation environments. The dual circular polarization capability also gives engineers greater flexibility when evaluating polarization-dependent system performance.
The antenna delivers 10 dBi typical gain, providing useful directivity for RF testing, signal monitoring, antenna measurement, direction finding, and system integration. Simulation results show a smooth gain response across the operating band, with the radiation beam becoming progressively narrower as frequency increases. This predictable behavior is valuable in laboratory testing, comparative measurements, and directional RF applications where consistent beam control is required.
Efficient signal transfer is supported by a typical VSWR of 1.3:1. The simulated VSWR curves for the two polarization states remain closely matched across the 1–2 GHz band, helping reduce reflected power and maintain stable operation. The antenna also provides 40 dB typical cross-polarization performance, supporting strong polarization purity and improved separation between the desired and undesired polarization components.
A 50 dB typical front-to-back ratio further strengthens directional performance by reducing radiation toward the rear of the antenna. This characteristic is particularly useful in antenna test ranges, EMI detection, reconnaissance, direction-finding systems, and monitoring applications where signals arriving from unwanted directions may affect measurement accuracy.
To accommodate different power and system-interface requirements, the RM-DCPHA12-10 is available in two versions. The RM-DCPHA12-10S uses an SMA-Female interface and supports 50 W continuous-wave power, making it suitable for common laboratory and measurement systems. The higher-power RM-DCPHA12-10N is equipped with an N-Female interface and supports up to 500 W continuous-wave power for more demanding transmission and test environments.
Manufactured from aluminum with a black painted finish, the antenna combines mechanical strength with a professional industrial appearance. Its overall dimensions are approximately 334.0 × 214.1 × 224.4 mm, with a weight of 3.163 kg, allowing straightforward integration into fixed test platforms, positioning systems, antenna ranges, and specialized RF equipment.
Typical applications include:
