Double Ridge Waveguide Probes are broadband microwave coupling devices designed with two parallel ridges inside a standard waveguide to extend operational bandwidth (typically achieving a 2:1 to 4:1 frequency ratio, e.g., 18–40 GHz). The ridge structure lowers the cutoff frequency while maintaining a compact form factor, enabling wideband performance with low voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR < 1.8) and high power handling capacity (average power > 200 W). These probes facilitate efficient transitions between waveguide and coaxial interfaces (e.g., SMA or 2.92 mm connectors) and are widely used in EMI/EMC testing, antenna range calibration, material measurements, and multi-octave systems where conventional waveguides would require multiple units. Their robust design ensures reliable signal integrity across demanding applications in military, aerospace, and 5G testing.
